Photo Copyright©2008 Laura KestnerCharles Chupp was employed as a right-of-way negotiator by a major electric company for thirty-five years, mainly in the westernmost section of Texas.  He became a senior member of the American Right of Way Association in 1968.

Now retired, he lives in his rural Texas hometown and has returned to his love of writing—still done with a Scripto pencil on a lined Big Chief pad.

For many years his frequent visits to the local coffee shops, his excellent memory, and a bit of simple down-home philosophy, has generated a column titled "I Got NO REASON TO LIE".  The first one was published in June 1982.  New columns are currently printed in his hometown weekly newspaper — the De Leon Free Press — each Thursday.
