Now retired, he lives in his rural Texas hometown and has returned to his love of writing—still done with a Scripto pencil on a lined Big Chief pad. The first one was published in June 1982. New columns are currently printed in his hometown weekly newspaper — the De Leon Free Press — each Thursday.
